Marijuana Mayhem

Hey man, i heard Ed the head is having another one of his parties. Yeah, just like last time its gonna be a stoner party. He said that nobody has to bring any product because he brought back a lot from colorado. just drop him 5$ at the door just to be courteous.
Ed said the party is gonna start at around 9:00 and at about 9:30 Ed is gonna start by dropping a pound of weed in his fireplace and were gonna clam bake his house. I assume thats when the party is gonna get crazy because everyone will be baked out of their mind. I was over his house earlier and he has sooo many lava lamps dude its gonna be dope as fuck.
Since its a pot party you should at least wear red, green, or yellow. I recommend dressing comfy because if its anything like last time I'm gonna wanna sleep once i get home. Get ready to jam out by the way, he's got Snoop Dogg coming through he’s gonna perform and then smoke with everyone.
Im also excited for the amount of stupid crap everyone will say. Dude do you remember last time when i said “the people who teach monkeys sign language don't get enough credit.” i cant wait for everyone to start stumbling over words cause thats when everyone is gonna start laughing.
Im just hoping someone stays sober enough to remember this. Oh by the way go pick up a pack of rolling papers Ed said he cant supply those, also im gonna need a ride.

Dear Smart Kid

Dear The smart kid in class,

Please don't be to offended by this but i must start off by saying, I loathe you. The reason for this hate will be discussed in this letter. Just to mention a few things you never let me see your notes when i miss class and your extremely condescending. Although your number one in the class you’ll never be number one in my heart.
First ill start with homework. You always manage to remind the teacher we have homework when ever i don't do it.  Yes i should probably do it more than once a week but thats besides the fact. If I miss class theres no way I'm gonna do it and thats why i come to you. I only come to you when in time of need like last thursday, i needed the answers and you called me a lazy piece of crap. This insult not only hurt me emotionally it put me in a rather bad mood. I will more then happily take your homework as an apology.
Next we shall discuss notes. The best way to take notes is to compare notes with your classmates. This is why I'm always asking to see your notes, not because i didn't write anything down or wasn't paying attention. If i come to you for the notes outside of class it truly means I'm desperate and i can use a hand. Be a good Samaritan next time and think about everybody in the class not just yourself.
Being put next to you was no coincidence, i asked the teacher at the beginning of the year if she could put me next you. I did this in order to ensure i do great on all the tests and quizzes. I thought we could have had a partnership. Like one where i bring the food and your bring the grades but yet again you only want to help yourself.
When i finally understand something in class( we both know how rare that is), let me answer the question if my hands in the air that means i actually did something and all your doing is defeating me. When the teacher does call on me don't scream out the answer either thats rude and i do remember every time you do it. Every damn time.
You may never know this feeling but coming 1 point away from passing is a pretty crappy feeling. I get this feeling after every test because you just manage to get a 100. WOOHOO CONGRATS FOR YOU. It must mean a lot coming from the kid that you cause to fail.
Now for the last subject of discussion, Group Projects. I am fully aware that i don't know anything and you are much smarter then me. Thats why you will be doing ninety percent of the work and ill try to help in any way possible. If you want a muffin from the cafeteria, you bet i can go get that for you.  But asking me to do question 1-15 is just down right wrong. I simply cant do this work i am not competent enough.
Now that I've ranted i feel better. I will not apologize for this letter, you deserve more of these letters. In the future i recommend maybe helping me out and we can benefit each other instead of having this constant battle between us.Honestly I'm exhausted, hopefully i can see you on monday in class not as an enemy, but as a friend

More Than A Feeling

The book Thats Not A Feeling by Dan Josefson is about a young boy who gets tricked into by his parents to attend a boarding school in upstate New York for troubled kids. This book is about the hardships of a boarding school. Throughout the reading Josefson was not exactly consistent with his voice and seemed to be a little shy at first. After the first reading he seemed to be more comfortable and warm up a bit.

Like i said this is a book about a boarding school for troubled kids. The first person you meet at the school is Ellie and in Josefson's first reading she is giving Benjamin, the main character, the tour of the school and introducing him to everyone such as the fat kid Pudding. The head master Aubrey develops an unnamed illness about half way through the book and as his health declines so does the quality of the school. In my opinion i would buy this book and from what I've heard from the reading i would also recommend it to friends.

As far as the reading goes he seemed incredibly shy at first. After the first reading he slowed down a bit and stopped stuttering for the most part. Although he stopped stuttering he wasn't very emotional and applied a very monotone voice while reading. Since he's an author and not a public speaker i wont really factor in his voice when deciding to buy the book.

His Q&A was very interesting because we found out that he worked at a boarding school and thats where he got his inspiration for the book. He answered all the questions brilliantly and gave a lot of insight when it came to revision. Hopefully in the future i can take his advice and maybe even write a book of my own.

Why Digital is Better

The article Why Digital is Better by Dan Black talks about how the old fashioned newspaper is being replaced by the more convenient and eco-friendly cell phone. Todays youth is now growing up in a digital period, digital articles and information have always been the easiest form of research. Ever since elementary school teachers teach the basics of comupster research to children. In fact one of the first lessons is how to use google in the. Having that ability now is key because for research google is the easiest way to get material and sources of information for writing assignments and what not.
Since I grew up in the digital age i was never truly taught how to find information without a computer. Lacking the ability to find information without google definitely hinders the research paper process. This is because if problems occur with google all that someone can do is change the words in the search box. This is not necessarily a negative effect it just limits the writer.
Technology is constantly changing and more recently phones are getting bigger. They are not the size of newspapers but the new iPhone 6 plus is certainly not small. This being said newspapers just get in the way. “But my iPhone is small and silent – a stealthy way to consume media.” (Blank). Ever since the mobile phone anyone can access any article they want any where at any time. This is super convenient compared to the newspaper or magazine. A newspaper is big and clunky and often takes two hands to use, the phone on the other hand only uses one hand and is much more practical to use in crowded places.
Ever since the mobile phone people have been reading less paper articles and more on their phones. You no longer have to bring an entire newspaper into the bathroom just to read one interesting article. With the mobile phone you can read as many articles as you want, granted you have the time for that. Another key thing is that mobile phones are eco-friendly, not having to worry about recycling yesterdays newspaper just closing the window in safari.
Growing up in the digital world is much different from the past. Now we have phones with endless articles and size efficient. Although the newspaper was a kew part of society at one point. It is now an out dated source of information.
